Review by hotel critic
During our recent family vacation in South Africa, we had the pleasure of staying at a charming boutique hotel that catered wonderfully to our needs. The location was strategically placed near the vibrant shops and some delightful restaurants, making it easy for us to explore the area without hassle. As a marathon runner, I appreciated the hotel’s fitness facilities and access to local parks, perfect for early morning runs with stunning views. One of the highlights was the exceptional breakfast buffet, which offered a delightful variety that catered to all ages. The availability of secure, spacious rooms enhanced our comfort, with generous bedding that ensured restful nights. A few aspects fell short. While the reception staff were initially unfriendly, the warm and accommodating nature of other personnel more than made up for it. The hotel’s proximity to landmarks, such as the Moses Mabhida Stadium, meant we enjoyed family-friendly activities, including attending events and visiting the Durban Botanical Gardens, where we caught an open-air concert. Despite minor room issues, our overall experience was pleasant, providing an inviting atmosphere for families looking to explore the richness of South Africa without compromising on comfort.
